I’ve been designing software since the early 2000s. I’ve been leading the teams that build it for the last several years.

For most of my career, I’ve been designing high stakes software for people like MRO technicians, aerospace engineers at places like Delta, FedEx, and more. They’re working in high-stakes environments where bad UX can cost them… Big time.

These days, I’m as focused on growing my design team as I am on the work itself. Building the conditions for great design to happen, like the team culture, stakeholder trust, and seamless cohesion between design and engineering. That’s the job.

We’re using new AI tools to move faster. But the human parts of the job aren’t going anywhere. That’s the part I wrote a book about.
